Structural Market Bands: An On-chain Valuation Framework for Bitcoin Support, Resistance, and Market Cycles
This report examines how on-chain valuation metrics can provide structural evidence about supply, demand, support, and resistance in the Bitcoin market. It first evaluates the principles and limitations of traditional support and resistance, then explains how realized prices and lifespan metrics reveal the cost bases, maturity, and economic incentives of distinct holder groups. The report subsequently introduces Structural Market Bands, a framework that applies parameterized interpolation between lifespan valuation anchors, with calibration informed by changes in Active Realized Price, Short-Term Holder Realized Price, and Long-Term Holder Realized Price. The resulting curves define graduated structural support and resistance regions and provide a historical perspective on Bitcoin’s transition from an illiquid early market to a more mature financial asset with deeper liquidity, derivatives, institutional custody, exchange traded products, and indirect forms of investor exposure.
